Lessons From The Trenches: Designing and Building a Chatbot

In this presentation, we will show how much it "costs" to build a chatbot and what you need to account for unexpected scenarios and ambiguities during development. We will go through the history of our project of designing and building the solution, explaining technical challenges and how to overcome them, and future directions of development. In addition, we will demonstrate how to leverage the power of Microsoft Azure to guarantee security, separation, ease of deployment and integrity of what is deployed in a transparent way to the developer.

What I Learned Making an Integration Between Global Ecosystems

Integration between global ecosystems is always fun. In this session, I will walk through the implementation of highly available and distributed application and how to address all important quality attributes of the system (Performance, Security, Availability, etc.). What our development model is and how it helps to proactively solve different type of issues and main challenges, which we faced during implementation and production. Among other things, the talk I will share the top practices and services that took the integration to the new level based on experience with our end users.

Refactoring is commonly applied to code, but architecture refactoring is a completely new ball game. Architecture is usually the stuff that's hard and expensive to change. We'll share real-world cases, challenges, design decisions, ups and downs on our long journey from huge monolith to microservices in the cloud.
